DISCIPLE THE NATIONS A New Mission Work for the Kuyper Foundation

The Kuyper Foundation plans, God willing, to establish in the UK a new missionary work, based in Taunton Deane. In short, we plan to bring a missionary into the UK to work with us on the discipling of the nations. This work will be based in Taunton Deane but it will not be limited to Taunton Deane.

In order to do this we need to raise enough initial funding for a missionary for at least two years. The missionary we wish to bring into the UK is married with a young child, and he will need to find somewhere to live. We need therefore to raise an initial £70,000 for the first two years, in order to give him time to get established here. Of this we have already raised £16,000. We therefore need to raise another £54,000 before we can be confident that he can come here and remain for the initial two years. Not all of this money will be going as income for our missionary. In order to get a work visa in the UK the British State makes many expensive charges and fees and he will have to be employed by a mission organisation, which will also involve additional funding over and above what will be paid to him as a salary. Getting a visa and employing someone in this way is expensive. But this work is desperately needed. The mission organisation that we are hoping to work with exists to facilitate this kind of missionary work. However, we shall have to provide the funding. Once our missionary has applied and been give a visa and the funding is available, he will, God willing, come into the UK with this mission organisation, and he will then be seconded to work with the Kuyper Foundation by the mission organisation.

This does not mean that he plans to be here only for two years. Once he arrives and starts his work we will try to raise funding to keep him here as long as possible. But he will need then to apply for another visa to enable him to stay beyond the initial two years. Without the funding to get him here and support him for the first few years the project cannot get started.

We are asking for financial support for this work in the form of commitments up front so that we know where we are, but we do not need you to send any money yet. What we need is a commitment that once everything has been arranged, any money promised for his support will come in. Please do not send any money to the Kuyper Foundation for this project yet therefore (as yet we do not know whether the funding will go through the Kuyper Foundation or directly to the mission organisation). What we need to know is whether you will be willing to help support us in this work, and if so how much money you can give for the first two years. Without this up-front commitment of funding for the work we will not be able to proceed. Our hope is that everything will be in place for the beginning of 2024. But we need to get the funding committed first.

We are asking also, of course, that you will support this work with your prayers. The missionary we wish to bring in is fully committed to the Christian worldview perspective of the Kuyper Foundation, i.e. that the Christian faith is for the whole of life and every aspect of life, and that our task is not merely to make individual disciples, though it is that as well of course, but to disciple the nations as nations.

Our civilisation is in a very bad way. The Christian faith has very largely been abandoned as the foundation of our national life and our nation and the church are in decline. We have now reached the exponential phase of the curve in which this decline becomes precipitous. The forces that are currently driving our civilisation will drive it to utter ruin unless there is a genuine renaissance of the Christian faith that brings all things into obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. And only a renaissance of the Christian faith can save us from the dreadful future we face without it.

This work needs someone to spearhead it into the future. We are confident that with God’s help the missionary we wish to bring in will be able to do this. But he cannot do it without financial support from those who believe in the cause for which he is working.

The UK and Europe, indeed Western civilisation, is a mission field, and only by seeing it as such and approaching the work with missionary zeal will we be able to address the problems, and with God’s help see the renaissance of the Christian faith across the whole of our national life that we so desperately need. Please consider helping us in this task by supporting the work with your tithes and financial gifts and your prayers. If you can support this work financially please let us know how much you can give. Also, if you know of others who may be interested in supporting this mission please pass on this information. If you wish to support this work and would like further information or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us and ask via the Contact Us page on this web site.

CHRISTIAN RENAISSANCE MEDIA

A new name for the Kuyper Foundation website

The name of the Kuyper Foundation’s website has been changed to “Christian Renaissance Media.” This will be the name of the website only, and the Kuyper Foundation’s publishing imprint will be “Christian Renaissance Press.” The website address will remain the same as it is now. There are as yet no plans to change the name of the trust itself, which will continue as the Kuyper Foundation, at least for the present.

The subtitle of the website has been “Promoting the Renaissance of Christian Culture” for many years. Our world is currently in the middle of a cultural revolution, but this revolution has been much more subtle, subliminal, effective and widespread than Mao’s cultural revolution. Its effects however are no less devastating for human life. The only answer to this new world order, the religion of secular humanism, whch is now destroying our world, is a full-scale renaissance of the Christisn faith. But this renaissance must be much more than a mere ecclesial renaissance, much less an ecclesial reformation, but rather a renaissance of the Christian faith for the whole life of man, individually and societally, namely the discipling of all nations, and the whole life of nations, to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The new title aims to reflects this message and its ultimate goal.
